Huge, undercover marquees, with a wide range of crafters offering a variety of different crafts from jewellery, clothing, candles and pottery through to clocks, artwork and some rather more quirky items..
Who doesn’t need food at Christmas?! You will be spoilt for choice with our huge food halls with produce from many different producers, many local to the area. And with a taste before you buy approach, what’s not to like?
Working Craft Demonstrations
We love to see how things are actually made, so as well as many of our crafters demonstrating quietly at their stands in the craft halls, we have a number of demonstration tents and areas featuring some of our ‘larger crafts’ – for example:
One of our most popular demonstrations, Ed and Margy Burke from EM Glass will be doing hourly demos of glass blowing, showing you how one of their stunning pieces is created from a small pile of sand. Worth getting there early, because these are always very popular, you will be amazed at the processes gone through to create the perfect wine glass. And the opportunity to buy some rather unique Christmas presents from their stunning showroom.
Denis Townsend and his team will be demonstrating the traditional art of weaving sheep wool into rugs, covers and a variety of other items
Chainsaw Carving Elves
A favourite at all our shows, watch these master craftsmen get busy in Santa’s workshop and create stunning pieces for your home or garden using nothing but a chainsaw! Demonstrating stunning pieces which develop before your eyes throughout the weekend, our chainsaw carving elves are fascinating to watch and all too tempting to buy from.
Woodturning is a form of woodworking that is used to create wooden objects on a lathe. Woodturning differs from most other forms of woodworking in that the wood is moving while a stationary tool is used to cut and shape it. Many intricate shapes and designs can be made by turning wood. Richard Rood and his team will be with us to show you how it’s done.
Upholstery is the work of providing furniture, especially seats, with padding, springs, webbing, and fabric or leather covers. The word upholstery comes from the Middle English word upholder, which referred to a tradesman who held up his goods. Our upholsterers will be demonstrating the art at Hyde End
Kate Middletone, Julia Roberts, Kate Moss… the stars are all knitting! Rachel John, however, takes it to a whole new level with her giant sized knitting needles, producing fast and fantastic results in a kalidascope of different colours
Wendy Martin will be demonstrating while Julie Wigmore will be giving you (or your children) the opportunity to have a go yourself, throw a pot and see how easy it really isn’t!
Yes, we have real bees, safely contained of course, but giving you the opportunity to see something of what goes on behind the production of your honey, and of course the opportunity to buy some of that honey, having met the producers! Tracey and Becky Huckstepp.
Traditionally used as an instrument for showing the direction of the wind, but now more of an architectural ornament, these vanes come in so many designs and themes, you will find one to suit anyone! Made from scratch by master weather vane maker Ian Ellis, this is one not to miss.
No craft show would be complete without demonstrating the traditional art of black-smithing, and we have two of the best in Coles Blacksmiths and Stokes of England. A blacksmith is ‘a metalsmith who creates objects from wrought iron or steel by forging the metal, using tools to hammer, bend, and cut’ – come and see how it’s done – and don’t miss the amazing fire pits and hanging basket holders!
In addition to all this, we are delighted that Father Christmas himself will be making an appearance with his amazing owls. He will also be bringing a few of his reindeer, and these will be resting in preparation for their long flight and quite happy to meet children and make sure they have your address right ready for Christmas Eve.
We also have the inimitable Fiery Jack and his world famous Games Emporium as well as his Very Strange Thing – which really has to be seen to be believed!
We are delighted to have a full line up of live music on the Saturday and Sunday of Sandringham Crafts, Food and Gifts Show.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
