The Clarkson Singers

Formed originally in 1992, the Clarkson Singers were re-formed in 1995 with the amalgamation of the Wisbech dsc_0161-2Choral Society and the Wisbech Male Voice Choir by their founder, Bruce Wegg. The choir is named after the anti-slavery campaigner, Thomas Clarkson as at that time, their rehearsals were held at the Clarkson School. Loc-Mai became pianist for the Clarkson Singers in 2000, taking up the position of Director of Music of the Clarkson Singers in 2012 at the request of former Director, Bruce Wegg,  who retired from the position through ill-health.
They are a friendly mixed voice choir of about 40 members from Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk, who enjoy singing and performing to a good standard. Their repertoire covers a wide range of both sacred and secular works,  including madrigals, folk, light popular,  classical, and songs from the shows.
The ability to read music is a great advantage, but we also welcome non-music readers and inexperienced singers, provide they are able to hold a tune. We continue to welcome new singers of all voices, particularly basses and tenors.
