Crafter of the Week: James Green – Artist

James is a talented full time professional artist based in the Fenland market town of Whittlesey nr Peterborough. His subject matter for his paintings mainly consist of country/shooting landscapes and railway scenes.

Initially James was trained as a technical illustrator, however after finishing collage he decided to turn to fine art instead and has since built himself a high reputation as a realist artist.

His paintings are vey detailed and have a unique quality and feel to them. His recent railway paintings have won him critical acclaim and a place into the ‘Guild of Railway Artists’. All of James’ work are available as collectable limited edition prints which are supplied mounted and in addition James offers a professional framing service.

“I can spend many hours a day alone in my studio so its great to display at events such as the brilliant ‘Living Heritage’ ones. These shows craft showsgive me the chance to interact with my customers and gain new collectors of my works.

I paint using acrylic ink, gouache and watercolour all mixed together, the finished paintings are then produced as limited edition prints, greeting cards and drinks coasters.”
